BCC Participates in the Federal Governments Rule Making Process for Canada’s Offset Marketplace

On March 6, 2021, The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change published in the Gazette, draft regulations under the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act giving Canada’s carbon offset marketplace structure. The Gazette process has a 60-day comment period.

When it was published, the package included a regulation impact analysis and the actual text of the regulations. BCC made a submission under this process. We stayed specific to the actual regulation language. We did this because other policy issues and commentary in the ag press were not adding value to the actual regulations.
